Election Commission issues notice to BJP, Congress leaders for violating MCC

Jaipur: Election Commission on Wednesday issued a notice to BJP's Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra and Rajasthan Congress' General Secretary Sunil Sharma for putting up posters in different locations across Jaipur depicting different operations done by Indian Armed forces along with their own photos.

It also asked both the politicians to file a reply within three days.

In a letter to Bohra and Sharma, the district election officer of Jaipur said, "You have put various posters depicting different operations done by India Armed Forces along with their photos. You have violated the modal code of conduct. So, you have been served an issue. You should file a reply within three days and should avoid such actions in the future." 

Election Commission has asked all political parties to refrain from making reference to the armed forces during their campaign.

Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to begin on April 11 and will continue till May 19. Counting of votes will be done on May 23. (ANI)
