PM Modi: World must move beyond talks & focus on actions against terror

Close on the heels of strong statement from the United Nations Security Council condemning the Pulwama attack and urging Pakistan to intensify its actions against terror groups, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it is high time for the global community to stay united and take concrete action.

Seoul: Close on the heels of strong statement from the United Nations Security Council condemning the Pulwama attack and urging Pakistan to intensify its actions against terror groups, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it is high time for the global community to stay united and take concrete action.

"Ab samay aa gaya hae ki vaishik samuday....batton se agey barkar, is samasya ke virodh mein ek jot hokar karwa-wahi karey (Now the time has come for the global community to go beyond mere talks and stay united and take concrete actions against terror menace)," Prime Minister Modi said in a media briefing with South Korean President Moon Jae-in here.

Thanking President Moon for his words of condolence and support to India aftermath Pulwama attack, Mr Modi said India is grateful to Korean Republic for the gestures.

He also said the MoU signed by India's Ministry of Home Affairs and Korean National Police  is also another special feature of cooperation in 'counter-terrorism' efforts by both sides.

Prime Minister is in Korea on a two day visit.

Later in the day, he will receive the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize at a ceremony to be organised by the Seoul Peace Prize Cultural Foundation "in recognition of his national and international contributions".(UNI)
