UNGA president-elect, PM Modi, discuss need for UN action on terrorism, UN reforms

The president-elect of the United Nations General Assembly and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovak Republic, Mr. Miroslav Lajcak, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

New Delhi: The president-elect of the United Nations General Assembly and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovak Republic, Mr. Miroslav Lajcak, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated Mr. Lajcak on his election to the post of President of the 72nd UN General Assembly.

President-elect Lajcak shared his priorities for the upcoming 72nd UN General Assembly. Prime Minister assured him of India's full and constructive cooperation in discharging his new responsibilities.

They both discussed the need for stronger UN action on major global challenges, including terrorism, United Nations reform, implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, and climate change. (ANI)
