Mirzapur: In a shocking incident that has sent waves of fear across the city, an advocate, Rajiv Singh, was shot dead in broad daylight while on his routine morning walk in the Katwaru Ka Pura area under Katra Kotwali police station limits.
Cold-Blooded Murder During Morning Walk
According to initial reports, Rajiv Singh had stepped out early in the morning as part of his daily routine when a motorcycle-borne assailant approached him. The attacker fired at him from point-blank range using a country-made pistol. Singh collapsed instantly and died on the spot.

Eyewitnesses reported that immediately after the shooting, the accused attempted to flee but faced difficulty starting the motorcycle. During this brief delay, local residents began gathering at the scene. As soon as the bike started, the attacker and his accomplice fled, leaving behind a panicked and distressed crowd.

The entire sequence of events was captured on nearby CCTV cameras. The footage shows two individuals arriving on a motorcycle. One of them, dressed in white, walks up to the victim, pulls out a pistol, and fires without hesitation.
After the attack, the assailant is seen running back toward the motorcycle, where his accomplice struggles to start the vehicle.

As the bike fails to start despite repeated attempts, the shooter briefly hands over the weapon to his accomplice and tries to start the motorcycle himself.
