A high speed car struck a Nepali youth who was standing along the Gorakhpur Sonouli Highway in the Nautanwa police station limits, leading to his death on the spot. Following the tragedy, the victim’s family members vented their anger on the vehicle.
Maharajganj: A young man died near Babu Paisiya on the Gorakhpur Sonouli National Highway in the Nautanwa police station area after a speeding car hit him while he stood by the roadside. The impact was so intense that he was thrown nearly fifty meters from the spot.
The victim was identified as Abhishek Yadav, a Nepal resident who worked at the Babu Paisiya crossroads. He was reportedly watering the ground near his home when the fast moving vehicle struck him. Following the accident, his family members reached the location and angrily damaged the car involved, shattering its windows. They also engaged in a tense confrontation with the police. As tempers escalated, Nautanwa Station Officer Purushottam Rao arrived with additional personnel to bring the situation under control. The police have since taken possession of the body and sent it for postmortem. The incident has left the local community in deep shock and anger.
