New Delhi: Nowadays, a hot debate is underway across the country: Is the Election Commission of India free and fair as it claims? What about SIR? Rahul Gandhi led a massive protest in Delhi on Monday along with 300 opposition MPs against SIR and the Election Commission of India.
Amidst this political storm, the Election Commission of India is set to hold a press conference in the capital on Sunday at 3 PM.
Adding fuel to the fire, BJP MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey posted on his social media handle X at 10:15 AM on Saturday, stating:

2. Rahul Gandhi leads a massive protest with 300 MPs

“Didn’t Makarand Patil meet @PawarSpeaks? Was it through him that Pawar met @RahulGandhi? @ECISVEEP @HMOIndia must investigate and take action. These days, he’s working in Assam to mislead @INCIndia. Strict action must be taken against those who question constitutional institutions, and Congress’s lies must be exposed before the public.”
Following this post, Dynamite News tracked down Makarand Patil and interviewed him over the phone. In the interview, Patil categorically denied ever having met either Sharad Pawar or Rahul Gandhi.

This controversy erupted after Sharad Pawar, during a media interaction in Nagpur last Saturday, claimed:
“Before the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, two individuals met me in New Delhi. They offered a guarantee to help the opposition (Maha Vikas Aghadi) win 160 out of 288 seats. I introduced them to Rahul Gandhi. However, Rahul believed we should stay away from such dealings and instead connect directly with the public.”
Pawar further claimed that since he did not take their proposal seriously, he did not keep any record of their names or contact information.
