The controversy began after a crowd interaction during one of Pranit More’s stand-up performances went viral. During the exchange, an audience member, identified as Himanshu Jangra, suggested that because he had spent ₹370 on biryani during a date, he expected something in return from the woman he was with. The remarks triggered widespread criticism online, with many calling them misogynistic and insensitive.
Reacting to the controversy, Elvish Yadav shared a strongly worded post on social media. “Rs 370 ki biryani ne do cheezein expose kar di: Ek aadmi ko laga consent ka MRP hota hai. Aur ek comedian ko laga har uncomfortable silence ko laughter track se bachaya ja sakta hai. Biryani toh dum pe bani thi, controversy ego pe,” he wrote.
