New Delhi: Hyundai is gearing up to launch the 2026 Exter Facelift, its popular sub-4 meter SUV, in the Indian market, likely around March 2026. The vehicle was recently spotted during testing, fully covered in camouflage, hinting at important design and feature updates. This facelift is not a completely new model but a mid-life update, aimed at keeping the SUV fresh and competitive in its segment.
The Exter Facelift is expected to receive a refreshed front bumper and grille design, giving it a modern and updated appearance. The headlamps and DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) will be subtly revised to enhance its contemporary look.
Additionally, new alloy wheel designs are likely to be introduced, which will not only improve the SUV’s aesthetics but also its road presence. These updates are designed to make the Exter more appealing compared to rivals like the Tata Punch and Nissan Magnite.
While the interior layout of the Exter Facelift is expected to remain largely similar to the current model, several feature upgrades are anticipated.

The SUV may come equipped with a larger, smoother touchscreen infotainment system integrated with the latest connected car technologies. Other expected updates include a digital instrument cluster, USB-C charging ports, new seat fabrics, and additional color options.
On the safety front, the Exter Facelift is likely to include six standard airbags, significantly boosting occupant protection. Premium features such as a sunroof could make the SUV more attractive in comparison to its competitors.
Under the hood, the 1.2-liter petrol engine is expected to continue, alongside a CNG variant. Transmission options will likely include a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox, maintaining the versatility offered in the current lineup.
Some reports have also hinted at the possible addition of a turbo-petrol engine for higher trims, which could enhance performance for enthusiasts.
The launch of the Hyundai Exter Facelift in India is anticipated in March 2026, with a starting ex-showroom price of around ₹6 lakh. With its refreshed design, upgraded features, improved safety, and competitive pricing, the facelifted Exter is expected to strengthen Hyundai’s position in the sub-4 meter SUV segment.
