Patna: The excitement of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections has now reached its final stage. Voting is complete, and all eyes are now on the counting of votes on November 14, 2025. The Election Commission has completed preparations for the counting of votes and has implemented strict security measures across the state.

Counting Date and Time

  • According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), vote counting will begin at 8:00 am on Friday, November 14.
  • Initial trends will begin coming in at 8:30 am, and final results are expected by evening.
  • Votes will be counted at 46 counting centers across 38 districts.

Three-Tier Security System

The Election Commission has implemented a three-layer security system at the counting centers.

  • First Layer: Bihar Police personnel will be deployed.
  • Second layer: State Armed Police (SAP) has been deployed.
  • Third and innermost layer: Central paramilitary forces will be present.

In addition, CCTV cameras have been installed at each center, which are monitored 24 hours a day from a control room. Only authorized officials are allowed to enter the counting hall.

Changes in Postal Ballot Counting

  • This time, the Election Commission has changed the rules for counting postal ballots.
  • Postal ballots will now be counted before the final two rounds of counting.

Strictness During Counting

Mobile phones, calculators, cameras, or any electronic devices are strictly prohibited from being brought into the counting centers.

  • Each counting hall has 15 tables.
  • EVMs will be counted on 14 tables.
  • One table is designated for the Assistant Returning Officer.
  • A counting supervisor, assistant, and micro-observer will be present at each table.

Women voted in large numbers

This time, Bihar recorded a record 66.91% voter turnout, the highest since 1951. Women's participation was higher than that of men: Women: 71.6%, Men: 62.8%. Of the total 74.5 million voters, 35.1 million were women and 39.3 million were men.

Exit Polls and the Competition

According to exit polls, the NDA alliance (BJP-JDU) appears to be winning a clear majority, while the Grand Alliance (RJD-Congress) appears to be lagging behind.

However, Tejashwi Yadav has claimed that the Grand Alliance will form the government on November 14th. Now it remains to be seen who the public will vote for: Sushasan Babu Nitish Kumar or Tejashwi Yadav.
