Nitish Kumar Likely to Resign from Bihar Legislative Council
Patna: Bihar politics may witness a major shift these days. According to sources, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may resign from his membership in the Bihar Legislative Council on March 30th. It is believed that the Assembly and Legislative Council are on recess until March 29th, after which he may submit his resignation on Monday. However, no official confirmation has yet been received in this regard.
It is reported that Nitish Kumar was recently elected to the Rajya Sabha and is now expected to travel to Delhi. The current Rajya Sabha session is scheduled to run until April 2nd, so it is expected that he may take oath during that time. Discussions regarding this process have intensified in political circles.
According to constitutional provisions, if a person becomes a member of the Rajya Sabha, he must resign from his state legislature within 14 days. Therefore, after being elected to the Rajya Sabha on March 16th, Nitish Kumar has until March 30th. If he does not resign within this period, his Rajya Sabha membership may automatically terminate.

Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar has said that the situation may become clear by April 9th. He also clarified that the final decision on the name of the new Chief Minister will be taken at the NDA meeting, and Nitish Kumar's opinion will be crucial.
There is also talk in political circles that Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary's name may be put forward. Although no official statement has been issued yet, speculation has been rife about Nitish Kumar's hints for some time.
According to sources, a final decision on the new government may be taken after the end of Kharmas, i.e. after April 14th. Currently, suspense prevails in Bihar politics, and everyone's eyes are fixed on the coming days.
