Accused Rohit Arya was shot while trying to rescue the children in police firing and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. Two people were also injured in the incident. The injured include a senior woman and a girl who had come to the studio for an audition.
Rohit Arya fired an air gun at the police, who then returned fire in retaliation, injuring him. After being shot, the police first took him to Seven Hills Hospital and then to the Trauma Center.
Mumbai Police have identified the accused as Rohit Arya. According to police, Rohit had taken 15 to 20 children hostage at the studio. The accused also released a video during the incident, stating that he wanted to contact certain people and that if this was not done, he would harm the children. Police stated that Rohit appeared mentally unstable and repeatedly made threats.
