Mahavatar Narsimha on its way to outperform every small bugdet films
Mumbai: Hombale Films' new animation film 'Mahavatar Narasimha' has shocked everyone by earning a tremendous amount despite a slow start at the box office. The film has collected a domestic collection of Rs 37.25 crore till the sixth day of its release (Wednesday), a new record for any Indian animation film.
Slow start, but word of mouth changed luck
The film grossed only 1.75 crores on its first day (opening day), which was a small figure for Hombale Films (which has made blockbuster films like 'KGF,' 'Salar,' and 'Kantara'). But gradually the film's word of mouth made it a big advantage, and the collection continued to grow.
Incessantly increasing collection
Friday: 1.75 Crore (Opening Day)
Saturday: 4.6 crores
Sunday: 9.5 crore (highest earning)
Monday: 6 crores (although the collection usually falls on this day)
Wednesday: 7.7 crore (sixth day of release)
In this way, the film has achieved a new place for animation films in Indian cinema by doing business of 37.25 crores in just 6 days.
Hindi and Telugu viewers supported the most.
The biggest contribution to the film's earnings was the Hindi (26.65 crore) and Telugu (9.32 crore) versions. At the same time, the Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions were able to earn only 2 crores.
Benefit from increasing screen
Initially the film was released on only 800 screens, but it was increased to 2000 screens due to the increasing demand of the audience. Its popularity also challenged the domination of Mohit Suri's film 'Saira.' On 30 July (Wednesday), 'Mahavatar Narasimha' earned the most, while 'Saira' earned only 7.5 crores that day.
'Mahavatar Narasimha' has proved that if the content is good, animated films can also perform well at the box office. The success of the film also shows that Indian viewers are now liking new and unique concepts. Hombale Films has once again shown the skills to understand their quality and the choice of the audience.
