The Afghan army has launched the largest attack on the Kurram border. According to reports, the Afghan army attacked a Pakistani Frontier Corps post with heavy weapons, including artillery.
The attack began around 9:30 am Indian time. Some photographs have also emerged showing Afghan soldiers firing and shouting slogans at a Pakistani post.
Earlier, Pakistan carried out airstrikes on Kabul and Paktika provinces in Afghanistan on Thursday night. A vehicle and a house were targeted in Kabul. While in Paktika, the Pakistan Air Force reduced a civilian market and more than 35 houses to rubble.
Pakistan Under Siege
Afghanistan called this attack a violation of its sovereignty.
Immediately after the Pakistani strike, Afghan Defense Minister Mullah Yaqoob issued a clear warning of consequences. He stated that Pakistan would pay the price for the attacks on Kabul and Paktika.
Now, the Afghan army has turned that warning into reality and has launched retaliatory operations on multiple fronts along the border.
The most serious aspect of this entire development is that Pakistan, already grappling with attacks from terrorist organizations like the TTP, is now embroiled in open warfare on its western front as well.
The 201 Khalid bin Walid Army Command has issued an official statement stating that they launched this attack to avenge the strike on Kabul.
