Pakistan Under Siege
New Delhi: Dera Ismail Khan, located in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has once again become a target of terrorists. The terrorist attack late Friday night spread terror throughout the region. So far, three terrorists and one police officer have been confirmed dead, while several policemen are reported injured.
The incident occurred at the police training center in the Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) district, located near the border with South Waziristan. According to officials, approximately 7 to 8 heavily armed terrorists suddenly attacked the center.

The attack began with a suicide bombing near the training center. The explosion was so powerful that heavy gunfire erupted in the area.
Pakistani security forces and police immediately took charge following the attack. Three terrorists have been killed so far in the retaliatory fire. It is feared that four to five terrorists may still be hiding in the compound.
Dera Ismail Khan Police Public Relations Officer Yaqoob Khan confirmed that the exchange of fire is still ongoing and the operation is not completely over.
Following the attack, the Pakistani Army has surrounded the entire area, and a search operation is underway. It is believed that the terrorists intended to inflict significant damage on the police forces, but they were retaliated against in time.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a terrorist organization active in Pakistan, is believed to be behind this attack. In recent times, conflicts between the TTP and Pakistani security forces have been increasing.

Just a few days ago, the Pakistani Army claimed to have killed 30 terrorists in the northwestern region. This action followed an attack by the TTP on a military convoy, killing 11 Pakistani soldiers.
This latest attack in Dera Ismail Khan highlights the growing terrorist activity and the weaknesses in Pakistan's security system. While organizations like the TTP are openly challenging security forces, the safety of civilians and police forces is becoming a major concern. This attack clearly demonstrates that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains a hotspot for terrorist activities.
