Baghpat: The name of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and his family has been erased not only from Kotana village but also from government records forever. After the auction of his agricultural land, which was declared enemy property for years, was completed, this property has now been registered in the name of new owners.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, about 13 bighas of agricultural land were registered in the name of Pervez Musharraf's brother, Dr. Javed Musharraf, and other family members in Kotana village of Baraut tehsil area of Baghpat district. After the partition of the country, the Musharraf family went to Pakistan, due to which this land was put in the category of 'enemy property.'

Land bought for Rs 1.38 crore

On the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh government, the Enemy Property Custodian Office (Lucknow) had started the process of auctioning this land. In this auction, which was completed a few months ago, Pankaj Contractor of Baraut, Manoj Goyal, and JK Steel Company of Ghaziabad jointly bought this land for Rs 1.38 crore. Now this land has been completely registered in the name of these buyers.

Now the land has come under the new owners

Under this process, supervisor Prashant Saini from the Enemy Property Custodian Office Lucknow reached Baraut Tehsil and completed the documentation process. SDM Baraut Manish Kumar Yadav informed that after the completion of the registration process, now this land has legally come under the new owners.

Roots connected to history

Pervez Musharraf's father, Musharrafuddin, and mother, Begum Zarin, were originally residents of Kotana village. Both of them were also married here. In the year 1943, they moved to Delhi, where Pervez Musharraf and his brother Javed were born. But at the time of partition in the year 1947, the whole family went to Pakistan and settled there.

This is a historical milestone

However, a mansion and some agricultural land of his family remained in Kotana. The mansion was later registered in the name of his cousin Humayun. While the agricultural land was kept under enemy property. Thus, now the name of Pervez Musharraf and his family has been removed forever not only from Kotana village but also from Indian government documents. This is a historic milestone in which a long chapter of relationships and properties left behind after the India-Pak partition has now been closed.
