Washington: US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, urging Tehran to accept Washington’s latest peace proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between the two countries.

In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump said Iran needed to move quickly or face severe consequences if negotiations collapsed. “For Iran, the clock is ticking,” he wrote, adding that there “won’t be anything left” if diplomacy fails.

The remarks come amid renewed uncertainty over the fragile ceasefire that has been in place since April following weeks of military escalation in West Asia.

Trump And Netanyahu Discuss Iran Situation

Trump’s statement followed a recent conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which Iran reportedly emerged as a major topic of discussion.

According to reports, the two leaders reviewed the regional security situation and discussed possible responses if ongoing negotiations fail to produce a breakthrough. Netanyahu had earlier indicated that he would speak with Trump after the US President’s visit to China, with Iran expected to dominate the agenda.

The conflict between Iran and the US escalated earlier this year after joint American and Israeli strikes targeted Iranian positions, triggering fears of a wider regional war.

Peace Talks Face Fresh Roadblocks

Although a ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran has technically remained in force since April 8, diplomatic efforts toward a long-term settlement have shown little progress in recent weeks.

Iranian media outlets accused the United States of refusing to make meaningful concessions during the latest negotiations. Reports claimed the US proposed limiting Iran to a single operational nuclear facility while demanding the transfer of enriched uranium stockpiles to American custody.

Iranian reports also alleged that Washington had declined requests to release frozen Iranian financial assets or compensate Tehran for damages linked to the conflict.

Pakistan Continues Mediation Efforts

Meanwhile, Pakistan has continued efforts to facilitate dialogue between the two sides. Iranian media reported that Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently visited Tehran to support mediation attempts.

The visit followed diplomatic engagements involving Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir as Islamabad seeks to prevent further escalation in the region.
