New Delhi: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has accused the United States of publicly promoting dialogue while covertly preparing for a potential ground invasion, according to a report by Reuters citing Iranian state media.

He stated that Iran’s military is fully prepared to respond to any such escalation and warned that Tehran would retaliate not only against Washington but also its regional allies if attacked. Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran’s armed forces remain on high alert and ready to launch a counteroffensive.

Gulf Nations Assessing Damage

In the aftermath of recent strikes, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) confirmed it is evaluating damage caused by Iranian attacks on its facilities, as well as on another major aluminum producer in the United Arab Emirates. The incidents are part of a broader surge in attacks targeting critical infrastructure across the Gulf.

Reuters reported that two Alba employees were injured during Saturday’s strike, while Emirates Global Aluminium acknowledged significant damage to its operations due to missile and drone attacks.

Why Did Iran Attack?

The strikes come amid escalating tensions and severe disruptions to shipping routes, particularly due to Iran’s effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the targeted facilities were linked to the U.S. military and aerospace sectors.

According to the IRGC, the attacks were carried out in retaliation for earlier strikes on Iranian industrial sites, signaling a widening scope of the conflict and raising concerns about further escalation in the region.
