Over 620 killed in Iran in Israeli attacks since June 13

Tehran: As many as 627 people have been killed and 4,870 others injured in Israeli airstrikes across Iran since June 13, a senior official of Iran’s Health Ministry said today.

Iran Health Ministry On X

Hossein Kermanpour, head of public relations at Iran’s Health Ministry, said on X that capital Tehran and Kermanshah in Western Iran suffered the highest number of fatalities and injuries.

Other heavily affected provinces include Khuzestan, Lorestan, Isfahan, Markazi, East Azarbaijan, Hamedan, Zanjan, and Gilan, which rank third to tenth in terms of casualties.

Iran’s MEHR news agency quoted him as saying that 86.1 percent of those killed lost their lives at the scene of the strikes while 13.9 percent died on the way to or upon arrival at hospitals.

Top Military Commanders Killed

Top military commanders and nuclear scientists were killed in targeted IsraeIi air strikes.

These include Iranian nuclear scientist Sedighi Saber who was killed alongside 11 members of his family in an Israeli attack shortly before the Iran-Israel ceasefire took effect late on Monday. The attack took place in Astaneh Ashrafieh, a northern Iranian city near the Caspian Sea.

Operation Sindhu

As part of Operation Sindhu, another flight carrying 272 Indians and three Nepalese nationals evacuated from Iran arrived in New Delhi in the early hours today.

MEA Statement

The MEA spokesperson, giving an update on the special operation, posted on X that with this flight 3,426 Indian nationals have so far been brought back from Iran, amidst the Middle East tensions.

“272 Indian and 3 Nepalese nationals were evacuated from Iran on a special flight that arrived in New Delhi from Mashhad at 00:01 hrs on 26th June.

“3426 Indian nationals have been brought home from Iran as part of #OperationSindhu”.

Israel-Iran Ceasefire

The 12-day brutal conflict between Israel and Iran has officially come to a halt following a ceasefire. Both Iran and Israel accepted a ceasefire proposal put forward by US President Donald Trump on 24 June. Within hours, the intensity of war subsided. However, before the ceasefire could fully take effect, Iran launched three missile strikes early that morning, killing seven Israelis. In retaliation, Israel carried out pre-dawn airstrikes on Iranian targets.
