Moscow/Kyiv: A massive Russian drone and missile attack wreaked havoc in the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil. Zelensky's Diplomatic Preparations
Amidst the Russian attacks, Zelensky arrived in Turkey, where he is meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He says the main objective of the talks is to garner maximum support for a "just peace" for Ukraine. Zelensky said that global pressure on Russia is still insufficient and that each new attack proves the need to increase pressure.

New US Toughness and Turkey's Role
Zelensky said that some new signals have been received from the US, although he did not elaborate. Strict US sanctions on Russia's oil industry are set to come into effect on Friday, aimed at bringing Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table. It was initially said that US envoy Steve Witkoff would also visit Turkey, but it was later clarified that he would not.

Romanian and Polish Air Forces on Alert
During the Russian attacks, a drone entered Romanian airspace, prompting two Eurofighter Typhoons and two F-16 aircraft to be scrambled from a Romanian air base. Poland was also on alert overnight, and several military aircraft were grounded. Poland's Rzeszow and Lublin airports had to be closed for some time.

Other areas also targeted, Russia claims
Other Ukrainian cities were also attacked. In Kharkiv, 46 people were injured, including two girls. Sixteen residential buildings, an ambulance station, a school, and other structures were damaged. Meanwhile, Russia claimed it shot down US ATACMS missiles fired at the city of Voronezh. The debris damaged some buildings, but there were no casualties.
