New Delhi: The US has officially declared the Pakistan-backed terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF) as a global terrorist, but it would be too early to expect complete relief on this. The reason? TRF's history, its strategy and Pakistan's infamous policy of change the name, keep the work the same.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, Indian intelligence agencies are already in alert mode. They fear that Pakistan will now give a new name to TRF and will again fuel the proxy war in Kashmir. This pattern is not new, first Lashkar-e-Taiba, then Hizbul Mujahideen, then TRF... now who is next?
TRF's real identity
After the removal of Article 370 in 2019, ISI established TRF. The purpose was to present terrorism in Kashmir as a local movement on the international stage. TRF was, in fact, a new mask of Lashkar-e-Taiba, which was given the form of 'domestic rebellion' in the valley. But TRF carried out deadly attacks on security forces, smuggled arms and drugs and recruited youth by brainwashing them.
Why can the name change?
Indian agencies say that after the US ban, Pakistan can bring TRF forward with a new name. The reason is clear - to avoid institutions like FATF, and to maintain the false narrative of 'resistance' in Kashmir. For Pakistan, it is not just an organization, it is a part of its strategic policy. New name, same structure, same purpose.
The current leadership of TRF is in the hands of Sajjad Gul (Supreme Commander) and Ahmed Khalid (spokesperson). They have direct links with Muridke and Bahawalpur, the centers of Lashkar in Pakistan. They have direct support of terrorist networks like Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-e-Insaniyat.
What will be India's future strategy?
India has now prepared a detailed dossier that exposes the links between TRF and Lashkar, its financial network and the recruitment process of terrorists. This dossier will be shared with the US, the United Nations and FATF so that the organisation cannot escape global sanctions even if it changes its name.
Who is being watched?
The agencies are now keeping an eye on new 'resistance' names on social media, such as "Voice of Kashmir" or "United Front for Freedom", that may suddenly emerge. Their funding channels, online propaganda and cross-border messaging are under surveillance.
