New Delhi: Boeing may get another major setback after the aircraft accident at Ahmedabad Airport. According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the Government of India is seriously thinking of a temporary ban on flights of 787-8 aircraft Boeing Dreamliner.
This decision can be taken on the basis of the preliminary investigation report of the accident, which has raised many serious questions on security standards.
Big shock for airlines and Boeing
It is being said that negotiations are going on between the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and American aviation agencies. All aspects are being churned on the operation of Boeing 787-8 aircraft. If the investigation reveals technical disturbances or maintenance lapses, it may be a major setback for both airlines and Boeing.
Air India is also under investigation
In this entire case, Air India has also come under investigation. In fact, some of the aircraft that are operating for Air India are Dreamliner 787-8 category. Former Civil Aviation Joint Secretary Sanat Kaul said in this regard that DGCA has already sent a letter to Air India regarding security measures and technical flaws.
It is natural to raise the question of whether there was a mistake in maintenance standards. This is not the first time Boeing 787-8 aircraft have been a concern. In 2013, there were cases of fire in the lithium-ion battery of this fleet, due to which these aircraft were grounded for about three months.

Now if the engine failure or other technical deficiency is confirmed in the Ahmedabad incident, 787–8 aircraft flights may be banned again for a long time. A review of the inner system and maintenance records of Air India has also begun. It is clear that the blame for the accident is not only on one aircraft manufacturer but also on the operating system of the airline.
The final decision at the government level will be taken on the basis of the investigation report, but the indications are clear—now the flight should not be in the air, but also in trust.
