The term “Akshaya” means “never diminishing,” symbolizing continuous the prosperity and success. It is widely believed that any activity initiated on this day yields lasting positive results. According to the Hindu traditions, the day also marks the beginning of Treta Yuga and is associated with the birth anniversary of Parashurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
