Amit Shah delivers speech during discussion on Operation Sindhu
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a fierce speech in the Rajya Sabha today, presenting the government's stance on issues like terrorism, Operation Sindhu, and the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
However, as soon as he began speaking, opposition MPs started creating an uproar, chanting "Call PM Modi" and staging a walkout. Shah retorted sharply, "If I am already handling your concerns, why are you demanding him? It will only cause more discomfort."

70% Decline in Terrorism
Shah highlighted the government’s tough stance against terrorism, revealing that 7,217 terror incidents were recorded between 2004-2014, but from June 2015 to May 2025, this number dropped drastically to just 2,150—a 70% reduction. He credited this decline to the Modi government’s policies and the bravery of security forces.
Pahalgam Attack Terrorists Eliminated
Shah informed the Rajya Sabha that all terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack were neutralized in Operation Mahadev. He stated, "The victims’ families messaged me, demanding that these terrorists be shot in the head… and the Army did exactly that." He emphasized that the operation had solid evidence and proved India’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
Commitment to a Terror-Free Kashmir
Shah recounted the tragic case of a newlywed woman (married just six days) who was killed in the Pahalgam attack. He said, "I can never forget that scene… This wasn’t just murder, but a premeditated massacre in the name of religion." He asserted that while terrorists want Kashmir unstable, "We will ensure Kashmir is completely terror-free."
Opposition’s Politics vs Government’s Resolve
While opposition leaders walked out demanding PM Modi’s presence, Shah made it clear that the government will not compromise on terrorism. He stated that the security forces’ relentless actions over the past decade have set a historic example.
Amit Shah’s speech reaffirmed the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism. The opposition’s walkout exposed their lack of counterarguments. The question now is: What stronger anti-terror measures will follow?
