Blast in chemical mixing bucket at paint factory in Noida, 10 burnt

Noida: A blast occurred in a mixing bucket while making paint in a chemical factory located in Sector-8 on Thursday afternoon. Ten employees were burnt in the blast caused by chemical reaction. Five of them were seriously burnt.

All were taken to the hospital. There was no fire in the factory in this accident. The five seriously injured were referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Everyone's condition is improving.

Paint manufacturing work is done in a chemical factory in F Block of Sector-8. Many employees were working in the factory after about 3 pm on Thursday afternoon. Like every day, the employees were making paint of other colors by adding thinner to the paint. During this, the employees added more chemicals to a 30-liter bucket and also mixed other chemicals. Due to this, there was a blast in the bucket due to chemical reaction. This created chaos on the spot and Ashish, Rakesh, Arjun, Akhilesh, Ajay, Sarita, Rajesh, Akhilesh, Kanhaiya Kumar and Ankit working there got burnt. Rajesh, Akhilesh, Kanhaiya, Ajay and another person got burnt by more than 20 percent. The hands, face, stomach and legs of the employees got affected by the chemical blast.

Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey says that the blast happened due to mixing of more chemicals. Some employees got burnt, but there was no fire in the company. The department team is investigating the matter.

Chaos ensued, police, fire engines and ambulances reached the spot

Chaos ensued on the spot after the blast in the factory. After this, on receiving the information, two fire engines along with the police team reached the spot. However, there was no fire, so the fire engines remained standing on the spot. After this, three ambulances were called to take the burnt people to the hospital and they were taken to the district hospital. After initial treatment at the district hospital, two ambulances took five seriously injured people to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.

If there was a fire, there would have been more damage

Fire officials say that there was no fire after the blast due to chemical reaction. If there was a fire, there would have been more damage. Because a lot of chemicals and other inflammable substances were kept in the factory.
