New Delhi: On Tuesday, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) claimed that it has been given new assurances by the government that no legal case would be filed against protesters in Bihar, Assam, and Rajasthan, while maintaining its demands for withdrawal of FIRs in connection with the nationwide protests of students.

In a series of midnight tweets, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das posted on X handle that CJP had been "assured" that no action would be taken against the protesters in Rajasthan. He further clarified that assurances had already been given regarding Bihar and Assam as well.

Das tweeted that he, along with CJP's legal representative Ratna Singh, met representatives of Delhi Police, who, according to him, were acting as interlocutors in talks between the protesting groups and the government.
As per Das, the delegation raised questions about the implementation of the assurances. He further said that Delhi Police had given them a copy of the notification from the government of Bihar withdrawing cases against protesters registered up to July 26, saying that similar notifications from other states will be coming soon.
The CJP advised protesters and students who are being targeted by police to have patience as legal aid will soon become available to them.
According to Das, the CJP has established an online portal through which protesters who have been arrested or booked can seek legal help from attorneys located all over India. Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Kapil Sibal promised to contribute ₹1 crore for the legal help program and requested all lawyers to register themselves for the same.
However, despite the assurance provided by the organization, the CJP declared that they will take to the streets once again if cases against protesters are not withdrawn.
Earlier, Ashutosh Ranka, a leader of the CJP, had claimed that they will be "forced to protest again" in case the governments fail to follow the understanding that they have reached out regarding the withdrawal of FIRs, releasing of detained students, and not registering new cases against the protesters.

The CJP concluded their 37-day protest on Saturday following some of the promises made by the government, such as compensation to the families of the dead protesters and a review of the cases lodged against them.
