AQI level crossed 400

Air pollution levels in Delhi and the surrounding NCR region have reached extremely critical levels. The AQI in the national capital has crossed 400, making the air dangerous to breathe.

What is GRAP 4, and when is it implemented?

GRAP, or Graded Response Action Plan, is a four-stage plan designed for pollution control.

GRAP 1: Implemented when the AQI is between 201 and 300.

GRAP 2: Implemented when the AQI is between 301 and 400.

GRAP 3: Implemented when the AQI is between 401 and 450.

GRAP 4: Implemented when the AQI is above 450.

Weather Update in Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, dense fog continues in the mornings and evenings amid changing weather and dropping temperatures. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 19 districts in the Terai region for Sunday due to extremely dense fog.

Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a weather scientist at BHU, said that the cold will continue to affect Uttar Pradesh. Over the next 3 to 4 days, both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to drop further, intensifying the cold. During this period, daytime temperatures are also likely to fall.

According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog is expected in the Terai region of western Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. In eastern Uttar Pradesh, particularly the Purvanchal region, fog is likely to vary from dense to very dense in some areas, leading to reduced visibility.
