Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly is going to be the first such assembly in the country where MLAs will be given classes to use Artificial Intelligence (AI). Under this unique initiative, MLAs will be informed about the AI tools of Professor AI Tools of IIT Kanpur.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, this historical training is likely to be held in the middle or end of the upcoming monsoon session. Each of these trainings being organized on the initiative of the UP Assembly Secretariat is seen across the country.
Voluntary Classes
The Assembly Secretariat has clarified that this training will be completely voluntary. No MLA will be forced to participate in it. But this training will help them walk step by step with digital and technological changes. This series of technical changes started under the leadership of Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana when high-tech AI-rich cameras were recently installed in the assembly premises. Now the next step is to empower the legislators themselves technically.
The UP Assembly will be equipped with AI
After the training program, Special AI support units will also be formed in the Assembly, which will help MLAs in tasks such as legal research, policy analysis, document investigation, and public opinion. These units will not only provide technical support to the MLAs, but regular workshops will also be organized for their staff.
These important initiatives will be included in AI training
1. Document check and legal writing: MLAs will be told how a bill can be drafted with the help of AI and legislative issues can be identified and compared to laws in other states or countries.
2. Identifying the conflict of interest: AI tools can analyze the possible conflicts related to the assets, business interests, or policy decisions of the legislators.
3. Understanding of public opinion: AI will be able to analyze through social media, online petitions, and digital surveys how the public looks at an issue.
4. Forecast the impact of laws: Social, economic, and environmental impacts of proposed laws can be estimated through AI.
5. Record digitization and searchability: Older documents, debates, and reports will be digitized with the help of AI and can be easily searched.
6. Linguistic translation: Assembly actions can be translated immediately into Indian languages, which will give convenience to the legislators of regional languages.
7. Monitoring of government schemes: Real-time monitoring of various government projects, budget expenses, and regional effects will be possible through the AI dashboard.
8. Information about moral and privacy criteria: All MLAs will be trained for safe, equitable, and transparent use of AI so that the privacy of private information of the citizens remains.
