Targeting the Modi Government and BJP's Policies

Mallikarjun Kharge launched a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government, saying that the BJP and its state governments are working to incite religious polarization and communal sentiments. He said that instead of development, the governments are engaged in dividing the public in the name of religion and caste.

Criticism of the Nitish Kumar Government

Regarding Nitish Kumar's government, Kharge said that the BJP brought him back to power in January 2024 by supporting him, but the Nitish government has not lived up to its promises of development. He said that Bihar's economy is continuously lagging and the claim of a 'double-engine government' has become merely a political slogan.

Kharge also alleged that the BJP now considers Nitish Kumar a burden and has mentally retired him. He was referring to the growing internal strife within the NDA.

Questions on the Uttar Pradesh Government

The Congress President also criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He said that Yogi considers himself the successor of Prime Minister Modi, despite his past being filled with anti-reservation writings.

He also criticized the recent ban on caste-based rallies by the Yogi government, calling it an attempt to suppress the voices of Dalits and backward classes. He questioned why people are being prevented from protesting against caste-based atrocities when the caste census is being discussed. Isn't this against democracy?

Demand for answers from the government

Kharge directly questioned Prime Minister Modi, asking if he would tell the country that while the government supports the caste census, its Chief Minister is talking about jailing protesters.
