Jewar: The Modi government approves the country's sixth semiconductor unit in Jewar; 2000 people will get employment, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The Modi government has approved the setting up of the country's sixth semiconductor unit in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this unit is part of India's semiconductor mission, and HCL and Foxconn will be in partnership with it.

He said that so far 5 semiconductor plants have been approved in the country, out of which production will start in one unit this year itself. Now the sixth unit, which is going to be set up in Jewar, will be very advanced in terms of technology.

What will be the benefit?

With the construction of this unit, about 2000 people will get direct employment. A total investment of Rs 3706 crore will be made in this. 3.6 crore display driver chips will be made here every month, and its production will start in the year 2027. Apart from this, 20,000 semiconductor wafers will also be produced in this plant every month.

The minister also spoke on Operation Sindoor

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav described Operation Sindoor as an example of India's strength and decisive leadership. He said, "This operation is a great example of our army's capability, India's new confidence, and the use of technology. Technology not only makes us strong but also secures the country's future."

That is, on the one hand, the country is getting great success on the technology front, while India has also shown its strength on the security front.

Semiconductor unit will attract investment

The new semiconductor unit approved today will attract investment of Rs 3,700 crore.

As the country moves forward in its semiconductor journey, the eco system partners have also established their facilities in India. Applied Materials and Lam Research are two of the largest equipment manufacturers.

Both have a presence in India now. Merck, Linde, Air Liquide, Inox, and many other gas and chemical suppliers are gearing up for growth of our semiconductor industry.

With the demand for semiconductor increasing with the rapid growth of laptop, mobile phone, server, medical device, power electronics, defence equipment, and consumer electronics manufacturing in Bharat, this new unit will further add to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, he added.
