Dehradun: Monsoon has started showing its fierce form in Uttarakhand at this time. Continuous heavy rains in both mountainous and plain areas have completely disrupted life. Disasters such as waterlogging, floods and landslides have become a problem for the people in many parts of the state.

Meanwhile, Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center Dehradun, has once again issued a warning for the state reports Dynamite News correspondent.

IMD Issued Orange Alert

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for seven districts of the state - Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Nainital and Bageshwar - on July 1. Very heavy rains are expected in these districts, while yellow alert has been declared for other districts.

The Meteorological Department said that there will be continuous rains in the entire state till July 6, due to which incidents of floods, waterlogging and landslides may increase. In the last 24 hours, the state has recorded four times more rain than the average, i.e. about 35 mm.

Roads, Bridges Damaged

The situation in the state is getting worse day by day. The continuous rain has damaged roads, bridges and fields. In many places in the mountainous areas, the roads have been blocked due to landslides, due to which there are huge difficulties in movement. At the same time, people are troubled by the problem of waterlogging in the plains. In view of these emergency situations, the state government has put the disaster control centers of all the districts on high alert. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day in the control room and are keeping an eye on the situation.

Char Dham Yatra Paused

The biggest blow of rain is falling on the Chardham Yatra. Every year a large number of devotees reach Uttarakhand for the Chardham Yatra, but this time due to heavy rains and bad weather, the number of devotees has come down drastically. The journey to pilgrimage places like Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri is getting disrupted repeatedly.

Due to the continuous landslides, the pilgrims have to wait on the roads and many times the journey has to be stopped midway. This has created an atmosphere of fear and confusion in the minds of the devotees.

The latest warning of the Meteorological Department has further increased the concern of the administration and the government. The Disaster Management Department is constantly monitoring, but the preparations also seem limited in front of the onslaught of weather.
