SCO condemns Israel’s attack on Iran; India clarifies stance, says ‘we are not involved’

New Delhi: Regarding the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has issued an official statement condemning the attacks on Iran by Israel. However, India has distanced itself from this statement, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs clarified on Saturday, June 14, that India did not participate in the SCO discussions on the basis of which this statement was issued. The ministry said, "We have not participated in any such discussion of the SCO due to which this statement came out."

India had already made its independent stand clear on the Iran-Israel conflict on June 13. India has appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and find a solution through diplomacy regarding this conflict.

The Ministry of External Affairs said, "We request to adopt the path of dialogue and diplomacy to establish peace and reduce tension instead of war. Also, we urge the international community to make efforts towards restoring peace."

Apart from this, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar recently spoke to the Iranian Foreign Minister in which he conveyed India's concerns and stressed that a solution should be found through diplomatic means without further escalating the current situation.

Iran launches missile attacks on Israel again

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it detected a missile launch from Iran again. "A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles from Iran toward the State of Israel," the Israel Defence Forces said on Telegram.

It said the Israeli Air Force is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat. Iran's air defence has downed two Israeli Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jets as well as a large number of micro aerial vehicles, capturing a female Israeli pilot, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) rejected the report. In a statement, IDF Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee called the allegations "completely baseless." Stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates.
