Security forces eliminated 3 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Srinagar’s Harwan, including two masterminds of the April 2025 Pahalgam massacre that killed 26 tourists. The successful operation marks India’s continued counter-terror push after cross-border strikes destroyed 100 plus terrorists earlier this year.
Indian Army neutralizes Pahalgam attackers in Operation Mahadev
New Delhi: Security forces on Monday achieved a major success by killing three terrorists in the Harwan area near Dachigam National Park in Srinagar. These terrorists have been identified as Suleman, Yasir, and Ali, out of whom Suleman and Yasir were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April 2025, in which 26 innocent tourists lost their lives.
Eliminates 3 terrorists
According to security sources, a joint team of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a special operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Mulnar area of Harwan on Monday morning. During the operation, when the security personnel were searching the area, they were suddenly fired upon.
After this, additional forces were immediately deployed on the spot, and the terrorists were targeted by cordoning off the area from all sides. After several hours of firing, all three terrorists were killed. The operation is still going on, as it is being speculated that more terrorists may be hiding in this area.
The Indian Army Takes Revenge for the Pahalgam Terror Attack.
This success has special importance because it is a direct revenge for the Pahalgam attack. It is worth mentioning that on April 22, tourists visiting Pahalgam were brutally shot after asking their religion. After this incident, India launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, in which the Indian Air Force destroyed 9 terrorist hideouts of Pakistan and killed more than 100 terrorists.
Pakistan, enraged by this action of India, had launched missile and drone attacks on the Indian border, to which the Indian Army gave a befitting reply. Today's successful action has once again proved that the Indian security forces are working on the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism.
This Operation Mahadev going on in the Harwan area reflects India's commitment that those who play with the security of the country, whether they are on this side of the border or the other side, will be given a befitting reply. Security agencies believe that the terrorists killed were associated with the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and were active in this area for a long time.
The success of this operation also underlines the capability of the Indian intelligence system, which detected and neutralized the terrorists based on accurate information. This action is also a solace for the families who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam attack. According to security sources, such operations will continue in the future so that terrorism can be completely wiped out from the Kashmir Valley.
