Villagers angry at overloaded vehicles, warning of road blockage and protest
There is tremendous anger among the villagers after the incident. People allege that to save toll tax, dumpers and heavy vehicles loaded with overloaded gravel pass through the roads of Shastri Nagar at high speed every day. According to the villagers, 250 to 300 overloaded dumpers and trucks run fearlessly on this route every day, but neither the local police nor the transport department takes any action against them.
The villagers have warned that if the administration does not take any concrete steps soon, then they are forced to come out on the streets and protest strongly. People said that this is not the first incident, accidents have happened many times before this but the administration remains silent every time.
Plenty of dumpers without number plates and with scratched numbers
The villagers also say that most of the dumpers and trucks running on the road either do not have a number plate or it is deliberately scratched so that it cannot be identified. Due to this negligence and illegal activity, it becomes difficult to identify the responsible vehicle and driver after the accident. Due to this, drivers fearlessly do as they please and innocent people lose their lives.
Questions raised on administration's inaction
This incident has also raised questions on the functioning of the administration. People say that till the administration does not take strict action against overloaded vehicles, such accidents will keep happening. The villagers have demanded from the administration that all heavy vehicles passing through this route should be strictly checked and strict action should be taken if found without valid documents or overloaded.
After this tragic accident, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the area and all eyes are on the next action of the administration.
In-charge Inspector Santosh Singh says that necessary action is being taken by taking the dumper and its driver into custody. The transport department will be talked to about the movement of heavy vehicles on this road and the movement of banned vehicles will be banned so that all vehicles pass through Lalganj toll and there is no loss of government revenue.
