The names of eight Indian citizens and many India-based companies are also included in this list of US sanctions. All of them have been included in America's Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) and Blocked Persons List.

Varun Pulla, founder of Bertha Shipping Inc. (Marshall Islands), has also been banned.

About 4 million barrels of Iranian LPG were transported by his company to China from July 2024 through a ship named Pamir (which is under the flag of Cameroon).

America's strategy and objectives

America says that all these institutions and individuals are helping the Iranian government to raise revenue despite international sanctions. This not only threatens regional security but is also a violation of global trade rules.

Therefore, America has taken this strict step to break these networks. This action warns traders and companies of many countries, including India, that if they do business with the banned countries, they may also have to face economic and legal difficulties on the global stage.

In the coming time, the impact of this step can also be seen on India-Iran trade relations and the international image of Indian companies.
