Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday presented a Rs3.32 lakh crore Budget for 2026-27, seeking to strike a balance between welfare commitments and development priorities.
Presenting the Budget in the Assembly, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav outlined a revenue expenditure of Rs2.56 lakh crore and a capital outlay of nearly Rs54,000 crore.
The revenue deficit is estimated at around Rs22,000 crore (1.11% of GSDP), while the fiscal deficit is pegged at Rs76,000 crore (3.38% of GSDP).
The Budget earmarks Rs51,021 crore for Backward Classes welfare, Rs32,308 crore for school education, and Rs19,306 crore for the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department. The Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has been allocated nearly Rs23,000 crore.
Describing the Budget as a roadmap for the aspirations of five crore people, Keshav said the state continues to recover from the impact of bifurcation in 2014 and what he termed “misrule” between 2019 and 2024.
He said the government remains committed to rebuilding growth engines and ensuring inclusive development.
