New Delhi: India and Nepal have strong, long-lasting ties, both in politics and cricket. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken many actions to help Nepalese players. Also, the Indian government is helping Nepal develop cricket talent and giving Nepali cricketers training in India.

In the past two years, the Indian government and BCCI have worked closely with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to grow cricket.
In January 2024, the External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, met with the Nepal men's national team and CAN representatives and said India supports cricket development in Nepal.
