Gorakhpur: A unique scene was seen in the Janta Darshan organized at Gorakhnath temple in Uttar Pradesh. During Janta Darshan, 13-year-old Pankhuri Tripathi, a resident of Purdilpur, shares her heart-rending story in front of the CM. Pankhuri said in simple words that due to financial constraints of her family, she could not pay the school fees, due to which she stopped going to school and could not even give the final exam.
Pankhuri asked Chief Minister Yogi, "Maharaj ji, I want to study, but due to the financial condition of the house, I am not able to pay the school fees." After listening to her, the Chief Minister immediately assured, "Study well daughter, we will arrange the fees. Your studies will not stop."
In fact, after listening to Pankhuri's plight, the CM immediately assured action. He said, "We will get your fees waived and if this does not happen then the government will bear the expenses of your studies." Yogi gave strict instructions to the officials that there should be no hindrance in the education of the girl.
Dynamite News correspondent spoke to Pankhuri's father Rajiv Tripathi. Rajiv said that after the Corona period, his financial condition kept deteriorating. The attempt to run a general store in one room of the house failed. Sometimes he supports the family by singing bhajans or working as an electrician, but this does not cover the expenses. His wife is the support of the family by working at a shop. With the salary received from this, the intermediate fees of the elder son Vansh Tripathi, who will appear for the board examination this year in 2025, could be paid, but it became difficult to pay Pankhuri's fees.
Rajiv accused the school management that due to delay in fees, Pankhuri was humiliated by standing in front of classmates in the class, due to which the girl developed inferiority complex. As a result, Pankhuri has not been going to school for four months and due to non-payment of fees, she was also deprived of the final examination. Messages to deposit fees were received on WhatsApp from the school, whose video was also shown by Rajiv.
When Dynamite News correspondent asked to the school Principal Dr Rajesh Singh about this, he said that this matter came to his notice through the media. Pankhuri's father never discussed this with the school management. Dr Rajesh clarified that if there was a financial problem, the girl would not have been stopped from appearing in the examination.
He said that the class teacher tried to contact through WhatsApp several times, but Rajiv did not respond. On talking twice, Rajiv said that he was in Delhi or somewhere else and disconnected the call. The principal also showed WhatsApp messages, in which Rajiv had talked about removing Pankhuri's name from the school.
Dr Rajesh said that Pankhuri is still a student of the school and she can continue her studies. The instructions of the CM will be followed. He also informed that free education is provided to poor children in the school under RTE (Right to Education). The second registration phase under RTE for the session 2025-26 is open from July 1 to July 12, 2025. Parents can apply on the website of the Education Department.
