Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government made major changes in the police administration of the state late on Thursday night. Extensive transfers of PPS officers have been done with the aim of further strengthening the law and order. This order was issued late at night.
Under this order, new responsibilities have been assigned to the officers posted on various important posts, including Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Circle Officer (CO). According to our correspondent, this list includes officers from major districts like Lucknow, Kanpur, Meerut, Varanasi, and Agra.
The government has promoted 67 PPS officers and appointed them to the post of Senior Deputy SP (Sr. DSP). These officers will now get the benefit of 6600 grade pay and the senior pay scale. This promotion has been given on the basis of their service period and work performance. Earlier these officers were working on 5400 grade pay.
This promotion has increased the designation and responsibilities of these officers. Now they will officially work as Senior Deputy SP.
