Patna: Counting of votes for the 243 assembly seats in Bihar is underway. Latest trends show the NDA moving towards a majority. The Grand Alliance, including the Congress-RJD, appears to be losing its dream of capturing power.

The election results are still pending, but if these trends translate into results, Bihar's electoral factors will once again be in the spotlight.

If we consider the last two assembly elections in Bihar, the results and their statistics are very interesting. These figures show how the BJP gradually established its dominance in Bihar and how the RJD and Congress gradually lost seats and moved further away from power.

Interesting statistics from the Bihar elections show that in both the 2015 and 2020 elections, the Congress and RJD's vote share increased, but their seats declined, and both lost power. The BJP, on the other hand, made a significant turnaround. In both 2015 and 2020, the BJP's seats increased, but its vote share declined. Regarding the JDU, its seats declined significantly, while its vote share declined slightly.

In the 2015 assembly elections, the Congress won 27 seats, while its vote share was 6.66 percent. In the 2020 elections, the Congress's seats declined to 19, and its vote share increased to 9.48 percent.

As for the RJD, in 2015, it won 80 seats, while its vote share was 18.35 percent. In 2020, the RJD won 75 seats, and its vote share increased to 23.11 percent.

Similarly, if we consider Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party, the JD(U), in 2015, the party won 71 seats and a vote share of 16.83 percent. In 2020, the JD(U) won 43 seats and a vote share of 15.39 percent.

The figures from the last two elections provide a glimpse of how the BJP has established its dominance in Bihar. In 2015, the BJP won only 53 seats and a vote share of 24.42 percent. In the next election, i.e., 2020, the BJP won a record 74 seats, but its vote share fell to 19.46 percent.

If this trend continues in this election, the seat and vote share figures may be discussed.
