Bihar: Two minor girls drown in pit in Begusarai

Patna: In Begusarai, Bihar, two minor girls died due to drowning while bathing in a water-filled pit dug by JCB.

At present, with the help of local people, the bodies of both the girls have been recovered from the pit after an hour of effort.

There is an uproar among the family members after the incident.

As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. The incident is from Sakrabasa village of Cheria Bariyarpur police station area. The deceased girls have been identified as Anchal Kumari, 12-year-old daughter of Naval Paswan, resident of Sakrabasa Ward No. 3, and Mamta Kumari, 13-year-old daughter of Jeevch Paswan. According to the information, both the girls had gone to deliver food to their parents.

The police said that the parents of both the girls were working in the field about 2 km away from the house. In such a situation, both the girls had gone to deliver food to their parents. While returning after delivering the food, they went to take a bath in a water-filled pit dug by JCB in the field, but while bathing, their feet slipped and both fell into the 20 feet deep pit.

Seeing both of them drowning, the people around ran and reached near the pit. When both of them came out of the pit after an hour of struggle, both of them had died.

After this, people informed the police station and administration about the incident. As soon as the information was received, the police of Cheria Variyarpur police station reached the spot. Local people allege that the accident occurs due to the wrong way of digging the soil by JCB. Investigation is being done in the matter. Further action will be taken after the investigation.
