In a meeting held in Supaul on September 15, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand started the 'Gau Matdata Sankalp Yatra' and sounded the conch of Sanatani politics.

He said that in the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, he will field such candidates on all the seats who are devotees of Gau Mata and make cow protection their main issue. He also clarified that this initiative is not motivated by the intention of joining politics but is for the protection of Sanatan Dharma and culture.
Shankaracharya also said in the meeting that cow protection is not only our faith but also the fundamental foundation of our culture and society. He expressed that there are about 20 crore Hindus in India, who have no one to listen to, while the voice of other communities is heard.

He said that atrocities on cow mothers are increasing and political parties have not taken any meaningful steps in this direction even after coming to power.
