New Delhi: Amid legal and political discussions on Justice Yashwant Varma, who is embroiled in a cash scandal, a major update came in this matter on Tuesday. It is believed that a big decision may come out in the next few days regarding the impeachmentment of Justice Yashwant Varma, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
A big meeting was held between union ministers and opposition leaders on Tuesday regarding the impeachmentment of Justice Yashwant Varma. In this meeting, the ruling party and opposition leaders discussed the cash scandal, including the impeachmentment of Justice Yashwant Varma.
It is believed that now the process of collecting signatures of MPs in this matter can start soon, after which the proposal can be passed in both houses of the Parliament. According to Article 124 (4) of the Constitution of India, any judge can be removed only on the basis of misbehavior or incapacity, and for this it is mandatory to pass a proposal from both houses of the Parliament.
Earlier, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Thursday that the major opposition parties have given their approval in principle to support the proposal to remove Allahabad High Court judge Yashwant Varma.
Justice (Retd) Sanjay Kishan Kaul, while speaking to a media group on Tuesday, said that the report submitted in the case does not include any right to cross-examination. It was a fact-finding report aimed at assisting the Chief Justice and forming an opinion. My personal view is that if the Chief Justice feels that there is some material in it and he is willing to accept the report, then an inquiry was necessary. A proper FIR can be filed, an inquiry can be done, and only then can the truth come out in this case.
The story is being updated, stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates.
