New Delhi: The future of the Dwarka area of Delhi looks very bright. In the coming few years, this area can become more expensive and developed than South Delhi. The main reason for this is the four big infrastructure projects started by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which will change both the look and character of Dwarka.

Let us know about these four projects in detail.

Five Star Hotel Project - Sector 23, Dwarka

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is building a luxurious five-star hotel in Sector 23 of Dwarka. This hotel will have 200 rooms and will be built on 2.5 acres of land. The hotel will be constructed, designed, and operated by the selected company, which will be given land on lease for 55 years.

DDA is expected to earn Rs 28 crore annually from this project. Guests of this hotel will also be given the facility to play on the DDA golf course at discounted rates. This project started on September 11, and its bidding will be done through e-auction.

International Business and IT Hub – Sector 24, 25, 26

DDA is developing an International Business and IT Hub on about 82 acres in Sectors 24, 25, and 26 of Dwarka. This hub will have state-of-the-art office space, hotels, and commercial facilities. This hub will attract IT and ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services) companies.

This project will not only increase business activities in Delhi but will also create thousands of new employment opportunities here.

India International Convention and Exhibition Center – Sector 25

This is the third largest and most important project of Dwarka. The India International Convention and Exhibition Center (IICC) being built in Sector 25 is being built in two phases. Its Phase-1 has been completed, and now Phase-2 work is going on.

In Phase 2, three large halls, hotels, retail space, offices, and a multipurpose arena will be built, which will have a seating capacity of 20,000 people. The hotel to be built in it will have 3,500 rooms. This project will be directly connected to IGI Airport and Dwarka Expressway and will create about 5 lakh employment opportunities.

Redevelopment of Bijwasan Railway Station

The fourth and biggest change in the development of Dwarka is the redevelopment of Bijwasan Railway Station. Currently there are only two platforms here, but under the new project the number of platforms will be increased to 8. The cost of this project is about Rs 728.92 crore, and it is being developed on the lines of an airport.

Long-distance trains to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh will be operated from this station. This project will be completed by December 2025.

Due to these four big projects, Dwarka will not only emerge as the new business center of Delhi, but it will also present a new development model in the entire NCR region. Projects like high-end hotels, international IT hubs, convention centers, and world-class railway stations will make Dwarka an international-level urban center.
