New Delhi: India has decided to evacuate from Israel those Indian nationals who wish to leave, in view of the increasing bombardments between Iran and Israel.

In a statement today, the Ministry of External Affairs has said that it will facilitate the travel of Indians wishing to be evacuated from Israel, through the land borders and thereafter by air to India.

In view of the above, the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv would be making arrangements for the evacuation of Indians.

All Indian nationals are requested to register themselves with the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv at (https://www.indembassyisrael.gov.in/indian_national_reg), if not already registered. In case of any queries, they may contact the 24/7 Control Room established at Embassy of India, Tel Aviv: telephone numbers: +972 54-7520711; +972 54-3278392; email: cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in.

The Embassy also reiterates its earlier advisories urging all Indian citizens in Israel to remain vigilant and strictly follow the safety guidelines issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command: (https://www.oref.org.il/eng).

The Government of India accords the highest priority to the safety and security of Indian nationals abroad. The Government will continue to monitor the situation closely. The Embassy remains continuously in touch with the community with a view to extending all feasible assistance, it said.

Earlier, as part of Operation Sindhu India brought back 110 Indian students from Iran.

The students arrived safely in New Delhi on a special flight from Yerevan, Armenia.

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh received them at the airport

The students were moved by road to Yerevan in Armenia with the support of Indian missions, before boarding a special IndiGo flight back home. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that efforts are ongoing to bring back more Indians stranded in different parts of Iran.

Earlier Incident

As the first batch of stranded students landed in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that students evacuated from Iran will be ferried from Delhi to the Union Territory in deluxe buses of Jammu & Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC).

A flight carrying 100 Indian students — including 90 from Jammu and Kashmir — from Iran landed in Delhi on Wednesday night. The students, all enrolled at Urmia Medical University, were evacuated through Armenia and Doha. The flight arrived nearly three hours behind schedule.

The Jammu and Kashmir Students' Association said that Kashmiri students who reached Delhi have not been provided airport transportation, unlike students from other states.

“They are being asked to travel in SRTC Buses. They are exhausted after travelling continuously for the past four days. This is deeply disappointing,” JKSA said.

Taking immediate note of the issue, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the Resident Commissioner has been tasked with coordinating with the JKRTC to ensure proper deluxe buses are arranged.

“The Chief Minister has taken note of the request of the students evacuated from Iran regarding the quality of buses arranged to transport them from Delhi to J&K. The Resident Commissioner has been tasked with coordinating with the JKRTC to ensure proper deluxe buses are arranged,” said the CM office on X.

At least 4,000 Indian students, half of them from J&K, are enrolled in medical and other professional courses in Iran.
