Beijing: China’s salami slicing strategy in political, economic, and military realms is unsettling the old-world order. The US and Russia are engrossed in risky, economic and dangerous military offences in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. Weakening the international economy and putting Western hegemony at risk. China’s perception of a new world order is enticing many countries to align with it.

China’s Growing Influence in Asia and South Korea

China’s evolving toolkit in Latin America will influence the power balance in the region. The US aid cut, tariffs and adventures in Venezuela will position China as a dominant player in the Americas. China’s cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries is a direct threat to the US dominance in the region. It will raise urgent questions about the shift of power in the region.

Economic Alliances and Strategic Partnerships

China has become the largest trading partner of Brazil, Peru and Chile after signing various economic deals and partnership pacts in agriculture, 5G technology, critical minerals, and electric vehicles. Left wing governments in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico are more tilted towards China. Beijing is cultivating economic and political relationships for resilience with country heads.

The emerging new world order with various fault lines will take shape in 2026. To tackle Russia and China’s attempt to change world order the US and the West have to address double standards and look inward.

China has emerged as the new economic and military power. The US and the West will have to address their political and economic policies to restore their sagging image or will have to live in the shadow of emerging Chinese power.
