New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on an important three-nation tour on Monday. This afternoon, PM Modi arrived in Jordan, the first stop on his trip. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this visit will further strengthen India's relations with West Asia and Africa. In-depth discussions will be held on trade, investment, strategic cooperation, and regional issues.
Prime Minister Modi's visit comes at a time of increased geopolitical instability globally. Through this tour, India aims to further enhance political, economic, and diplomatic cooperation with its trusted partners. Significantly, this will be PM Modi's first full bilateral visit to Jordan and Ethiopia, while it will be his second visit to Oman.

On the second day of the visit, Prime Minister Modi and King Abdullah will address the India-Jordan Business Forum. Leading business representatives from both countries will participate. In addition, PM Modi will also meet with the Indian community residing in Jordan. He will visit the city of Petra with the Crown Prince, a site that symbolizes ancient trade ties with India.
Discussion on the Africa agenda in Ethiopia
After Jordan, Prime Minister Modi will be on a state visit to Ethiopia from December 16 to 17. This will be his first visit to Ethiopia. Here, he will meet with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. All aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries will be discussed. The Indian Prime Minister will also address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament. India-Africa Partnership Takes a New Direction
Several Memoranda of Understanding are expected to be signed during the visit to Ethiopia. Through this trip, India aims to strengthen its role as a long-term and reliable partner in Africa. Discussions will also focus on Africa's priorities under Agenda 2063 and global issues. Interaction with the Indian community will also be a key part of the visit.
Focus on Trade Agreement in Oman
In the final leg of his tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Oman from December 17 to 18. This will be his second visit to Oman. India and Oman are celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations. During this visit, special attention will be given to the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. This agreement is expected to give a new direction to trade and investment between the two countries.
