Washington: In a major move amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, the United States Department of State has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information about several senior Iranian leaders. This list includes Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late Ali Khamenei.
The US State Department made this announcement under its special program, the Rewards for Justice Program. The department released a banner online, urging people to provide credible information about these leaders.
The US alleges that these leaders lead various branches of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and play a role in planning, organizing, and carrying out terrorist activities worldwide.
The poster states that those providing accurate and credible information about these individuals could receive a substantial reward. Furthermore, those providing such information could also receive rehabilitation assistance if needed.

This US appeal includes the names of several top Iranian officials. These include prominent figures such as Esmail Khatib, Ali Asghar Hejazi, Yahya Rahim Safavi, Eskandar Momeni, and Ali Larijani.
US officials say these individuals are key members of the leadership structure overseeing various branches of the IRGC and have been involved in planning numerous operations internationally.
This program is operated by the Diplomatic Security Service of the US State Department. According to the program, those with information about these officials or other senior IRGC commanders can contact them through secure channels.
Encrypted messaging platforms and secure digital channels such as the Tor network can be used to ensure the identity of the informant remains confidential.
Experts believe this move comes amid rising political and military tensions between Washington and Tehran. The US has long been trying to increase pressure on the security and intelligence networks linked to the IRGC.
This bounty of up to $10 million is considered one of the largest ever announced under this program. This clearly demonstrates the US's tough stance on matters related to Iran.
