Amaravati Quantum Valley project…a game changer

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, a visionary in the field of IT wants to challenge the Silicon Valley in California (US) with Quantum Valley Project in Amaravati. During his recent visit to Davos World Economic Forum, Naidu held wider consultations on this project with major tech companies like Apple, Microsoft, Google and Meta.

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today described the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) project, as a game changer initiative and it would place India at the fore front of global Quantum revolution. Talking to Media, Naidu said that global discourse would soon shift from Silicon Valley to Quantum Valley in Amaravati. During his recent visit to Davos, Naidu explored various avenues to promote this project with major tech companies.
Naidu thanked the IBM, TCS and L&T for partnering with the state government to establish India's first 133-qubit Quantum Computer centre. Amaravati will become a hub not only for Quantum Computers but also for Quantum professionals with advanced research in healthcare, finance and defence.
On Saturday, the Union Minister for Science and Technology (independent charge) Jitender Singh laid the foundation stone for the first integrated Quantum Valley ecosystem, where Quantum Valley towers would be built in 50 acres. The union minister said that the Centre had launched the National Quantum Mission with an allocation of Rs 6000 crore to position India as a global technology leader.
 Comparing his Amaravati dream project, with Hitec City in Hyderabad, which then was a game changer, Naidu asserted that Amaravati would be developed on similar lines as a global hub for Quantum technology. He said the AQV would emerge as a centre for Quantum designs, products and intellectual property with research spanning in several fields.
14 Companies had signed MoUs with the State government  to establish  operations  in the AQV, which would integrate hardware, software, algorithms, research, training and exports at one location. Experts in the field of IT described the initiative as a defining moment that transform Andhra pradesh from a technology consumer into a global creator of frontier innovations.
State government plans by March 2026, IBM Quantum system to be installed. By January 1, 2027 government proposed to install Three Quantum Computers and January 1, 2028, 1000 new Quantum algorithms to be tested.
