New Delhi: Residents of Delhi-NCR can expect a week of thunderstorms and intermittent rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The forecast suggests that changing weather conditions will bring relief from the intense summer heat that typically grips the region in early June.
The IMD has indicated that maximum temperatures in the national capital are likely to stay below the 40-degree Celsius mark until at least June 5. The expected spell of rain and cloud cover is set to keep daytime temperatures in check while improving overall weather conditions.
On Tuesday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 37.7 degrees Celsius, which was 2.3 degrees below the seasonal average. Over the past few days, the city has experienced relatively mild weather compared to the scorching conditions witnessed earlier in the season.
The cooler temperatures have provided temporary respite to residents, many of whom have been dealing with fluctuating weather patterns and high humidity levels.
