Humidity rises in Delhi, heavy rain alert for hills and Eastern India: IMD

Delhi to face humid heat with no rain till Sept 15. IMD forecasts heavy rains in Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and East India. South may see thunderstorms.

New Delhi: Once again humid heat is troubling people in Delhi-NCR. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is less chance of rain for the next few days, and sunshine will remain.

However, light clouds will definitely appear in the sky in between, but it will not rain. Talking about temperature, by September 15, the maximum temperature can go up to 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. Due to this, humidity and heat will both bother people.

Day-to-day weather forecast of Delhi

  • September 11 to 12: Light clouds will remain; there is no chance of rain.
  • September 13: The sky will remain cloudy.
  • 14 and 15 September: The weather is expected to be clear.

This means that Delhiites will not get relief from heat and humidity for now.

Where will it rain in North India?

IMD scientist Akhil Srivastava informed that there is no possibility of much rain in Northwest India at present. But heavy rain has been warned in some hilly states:

  • Jammu and Kashmir: Around September 14
  • Himachal Pradesh: September 13–14
  • Uttarakhand: Between September 12 and 15

People living in these states have been advised to take precautions.

Rain in South and East India too

  • South India: There may be rain with thunder.
  • East India: Heavy to very heavy rain is expected next week.
  • Sikkim: An orange alert has been issued for today, meaning the situation may get severe.

Western UP: Light rain may occur at some places, but no warning.

Eastern UP: Heavy rain is likely at some places; an alert has been issued.

This means that residents of Eastern Uttar Pradesh should be a little cautious.

Humidity and heat return to Delhi

Weather conditions are very diverse across the country. Heat and humidity will increase in Delhi. There is a risk of heavy rain in hilly states. Thunderstorms and heavy rains may occur in South and East India. The Meteorological Department has appealed to all the people to prepare their planning and safety, keeping in mind the weather forecast.
